Out My Window - drawing series
I started this series of drawings during the 2020 home quarantine for Covid19. I wanted to capture the views that I see as I look out from my San Francisco apartment, including the window boxes, since that influences what I can see. I draw the window frame outline in ballpoint, and then fill the open areas with colored marker pen. The drawings are quick captures of my view, intended to be fast and energetic. Since I only have 5 windows, the repetition of the same/similar views have given me more reason to look at, and try to really see what’s in my unique San Franciscan view. All drawings are 7.5x9.5" ballpoint pen, and sharpie marker on 9x11" paper, and are signed and dated in the bottom right corner. Since we stay in quarantine, I continue to create new drawings, each day.
