Stencil Fun

Ive started to call this group "Stencil Fun" because it really is just my thinking & playing with different approaches to alpha-numeric stencil patterns, without trying to write anything.  i enjoy using ordinary stencils from a hardware store, often using them in the same connected grid they were packed in.  In other compositions, I've drawn random stencils out of a deck and allowed chance to produce the order.  Experimenting led me to adding an element of mixed-media, when I used painters tape for the letters, sometimes leaving as an additional texture on the canvas.  These stenciled paintings cumulated with my "Clean Slate" sub-series in which i painted white random stencil letters on white canvas; the white-on-white effect making the painting invisible from a distance, and almost like vintage wall wainscoting when you are close to them.
